Theoretical econometrics vs Applied Econometrics Uni

Hi, at Uni, between theoretical econometrics and Applied Econometrics, which one has more maths/stats, and which one is harder to do? Thanks..

Theoretical econometrics will be more mathematical, it's all the underlying maths and proofs in regression models and statistical tests. There will still be maths/stats in applied econometrics but you learn econometrics in a less detailed way and instead spend time on how to actually use econometrics on real data using computer software.

With respect to what's harder, this simply depends on what you're good at. There's no objective answer, the answer will be different for different people.
