Second Undergraduate Funding Query

Hello everyone.

My wife has previously completed an undergraduate degree in Chemical Physics for which she received Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan. She now has applied for undergraduate Diagnostic Radiography.

Our question is, because this is an Allied Health Profession undergraduate course will she be eligible for tuition fee loan and/or maintenance loan again?

This press release suggests she would:
"...Students who already have a degree and are planning to undertake a nursing, midwifery or allied health profession subject as a second degree will now also have access to student loans through the student loans system...."

This press release suggests she would not:
"...a pre-registration postgraduate healthcare course..."

Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

Can you confirm what university you were wife will attend and the duration of the course? This may be an exception course and would need to check the details to advise on the funding available.

Thanks, Drew

It would be the University of Salford for a three year course. Thank you.

Hi there,

Thank you for confirming the course details. This course is classed as an exception course and we would not take any previous study or qualifications into consideration when processing the application. This means the student would be eligible for the Maintenance Loan, Tuition Fee Loan and Supplementary Grants if applicable. When would the course start?

Thanks, Drew

Hopefully September 2024.

Hi there,

These applications should be open in February/March time and if you follow us on social media as soon as the applications are launched we would let you know on these platforms and the student will be able to log into their online account and submit an application.

Thanks, Drew
