Urgent help w choices

Hi there I'm currently in Y13 - I'm yet to start my personal statement (yes, late working on it, personal reasons - due on the 31st)

I do a levels (w predicted)
Business: B
Economics: B
Politics: C

I'm quite unhappy with my predicteds as i really want to go to a russell group uni, yes the course is important to me but id prefer doing a worse course at a better uni than the other way round. I also wanna stay in london. I dont really know what i wanna do so i just chose politics, international relations that little area. I do have passion in this field I didnt choose it for the sake of it.

I really want to stay in london and go to a russell group/good uni in ldn. I wanna know if anyone knows if im going about the right path.

I looked online at unis i can do queen mary foundation year - politics & economics - extra year but i want to do economics too at a good uni but never cuz i didnt do maths and this is perfect for me cuz it pairs w politics too. Other options Im looking at for politics/international relations field r like royal holloway (BBB ish), SOAS (ABB) im slightly lower, i wanna apply to these unis, and maybe a worser course at LSE cuz u never know i can get an offer. Maybe my personal statement will bang - still need to write it haha. Then like 2 backups with Reading or city london.

I can possibly change my business into an A for predicted but its not really a good chance of that happening. Just wanna do a good course at a good uni. Thank you, any reply would be appreciated ( I don't mind doing foundational as I'd sacrifice that extra year and pay a bit more because I know its more beneficial in the long term) cuz imagine someones sees russell group politics & economics - thats the dream haha. Thank you in advance
Hi, I'd suggest applying to SOAS for a foundation year and then after that opting to International Relations. As long as your personal statement is really good and if you explain to them your personal reasons/grades and ask if they'd consider you/ for additional advice, you may still be able to get in. I'm a final year International Relations and Arabic student as SOAS and I can tell you the IR department and course itself is amazing and definitely worth pursuing. There's also a chance to get in through clearing in the summer if you didn't meet their requested grades. Hope this helps!
Hello! My name is Iris. I'm a third year Politics student at City, University of London. I would definitely recommend City for studying Politics. Our department has professors that are truly incredible. For example, my American Foreign Policy professor is consistently on the BBC, Sky News etc, giving his opinion on the US Political Climate. My Forced Migration professor spent his career in the field, working on incredible policies for the UNHCR. That's to say, City, not only offers many opportunities both academically and socially - but, you are taught by the best of the best!

City, University of London offers a Micro-placement program which is unique to City. They have relations with a variety of entrepreneurs and send hundreds of students on a summer placements every year. For example, for my MPP, I spent my summer interning at the House of Commons.

Not only is the MPP available, but the careers team at City is exceptional and can aid you for up until 3 years after you graduate - allowing the university to aid its students who may be struggling to find a job.

I also struggled with my A-Levels, however, I ensured that I had a strong personal statement, double checked my application and asked my teachers for guidance relating to my interests, making sure I was applying for a degree that aligns with my career aspirations.
