Maths Politics and Religious Studies A-level

Hi!

I am wondering if anyone is studying or has studied these three A-levels, since it is quite uncommon lol - Maths Politics and Religious Studies. If so, how did/do you revise for them? My exam boards are Edexcel for Maths, Politics and OCR for Religious Studies.

Even if you didn't/don't study all these three subjects and study one or two what were/are your revision techniques? I am aiming for AAA, currently on Ds and Us. What advice would you give especially considering exams are in the next 3/4 months, so soon.

This is what specifically I struggle on for each of my a-level subjects:

Maths - This is the subject I am currently on a U for because I am genuinely not sure where to begin. My year 12 knowledge is quite weak and year 13 is just a build up from last year. I am struggling a lot. I am not sure if I should go over the year 12 content but exams are soon and I don't want to waste time. What specific advice would you give? I am ready to put in a lot of work.

Politics - Now, with Politics last year I was on a B when I had my essays planned out but now I have dropped to a U with no essay plans. I spoke to my teacher about this and asked if I could create a bunch of essay plans but he said that they can ask anything so its not a good idea. I am also struggling with coming up with specific examples and how these examples interlink with the topics. I'll be honest keeping up with the news is tough there's so much to read about. Also, ideologies (conservatism, nationalism, socialism and liberalism) where do I even begin? How do I revise this? I struggle with coming up with paragraph factors sometimes too, I am strong with the essay structure and sometimes analysis and evaluation.

Religious Studies - This by far is my favourite A-level, content wise. I don't particularly like ethics though lol so I do avoid revising it, which is bad lol. My biggest struggle is coming up with paragraph factors, I'll have one point but won't be able to think of other points so overall I'll have one strong paragraph but won't finish my essay. How do I revise for RS?

Also, even if you don't study any of these how do you balance your A-levels because I am having the problem of prioritising my weaker subjects and completely abandoning one subject, so for me RS.

Thank you

What do you mean for what you are struggling with for RS?

I do OCR religious studies and I use the revision guide to make mind maps, I make essay plans and do practice essays.

Essay plans are a good way forward, look at model essays as well.
Ethics is also my least favourite part of RS, I think you really need to focus on the very specific details of the ethical theory (like four working principles and six propositions for situation ethics). I think you need to be strict with yourself - so plan revision sessions and then actually do it and don't find something else you would rather be doing.

or do you recommend something different?

You could maybe ask your teachers - it does also appear you can buy them but I wouldn't recommend doing that as there are other options first
