EPQ - Please help with referencing

I've got this website that I want to extract information from but I don't want to directly quote the exact wording of it. I'd like to take out little bits of it and implement it into my own explanation. Would I be able to reference the website normally like (website name, year of publication) after I've written it or would I have to do it in a different way, as it is my own wording but also ensure I am not passing it of as my own work? Is this a normal thing to do with EPQ or am I over complicating it, just don't want to copy down a whole website but also avoid plaigarism

my class was told, "If the information is not from your own brain or common knowledge then you MUST cite and reference it. If you directly quote from the source or paraphrase then you must include a cite and a reference"
So personally I'd say you should reference it as normal because you are taking some information that was not yours originally to make a point
