The Gothic OCR unseen

Hi guys, I have a few questions about this question of the paper if anyone could help me? Firstly, how are you supposed to make an AO1 point when the question is so vague every time? I struggle to know what point I'm supposed to be making when the question isn't specific.

Secondly, when you add A03 is it only supposed to be context from the period of the extract? If I had an extract that's let's say 21st-century gothic, would I not gain marks for bringing in a gothic text with similar features but from the 18th century?

I have my mock on this next week and would rlly appreciate any help
