Can I ‘firm’ unconditional?

Can I ‘firm’ an unconditional offer and still ‘insurance’ a conditional one?

No. The concept of "insurance" is to cover you in the event that you don't meet the conditions of your firm choice. If your firm choice is unconditional, then the whole concept of an insurance choice makes no sense.

Yes that makes sense. I’m thinking about the situation where a course may stop being offered by the university (I’ve had this happen already).
