bristol or exeter economics?

Exeter seems to be higher ranked and generally improving, Bristol seems to be declining year upon year especially considering it was once a top 5 uni. However people tell me bristol is still a high semi target for high finance and is more respected than exeter, is this still true in 2024?

Official rankings are useless. What's relevant is whether the course material interests you, and it allows you to go into the career you want, the official rankings are very weak signals for these. Generally Bristol's Economics department is better regarded than Exeter's and the module content looks more rigorous to me. Bristol may also give a slight edge for finance careers, but I wouldn't expect it to be significant
