Can I get into a course needing 32 ucas points when I have 16 points?

Sad I know, London met uni has a foundation year business management course needing 32 points, I have 16, they said they value work experience aswell, and I’ve been managing a successful family business in my gap year since finishing alevels, could I get into that course through clearing? I called up and they didn’t say it was impossible

Sorry, but from

‘at least one A level (or a minimum of 32 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, eg BTEC Subsidiary/National/BTEC Extended Diploma)
English Language GCSE at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)’

Yeah but it also says “Any university-level qualifications or relevant experience you gain prior to starting university could count towards your course at London Met.” The woman I spoke to said my work experience was relevant to the course, plus I’m hoping to apply through clearing, does hearing any of that change your mind?

Think about doing a one-year Access to Higher Education course instead and then you could skip the uni foundation year:

If you’re taking a gap year why aren’t you taking additional qualifications so you aren’t reliant on ripoff foundation years?

Hi there!

Like what has been mentioned, Access to HE courses are a great way to receive the relevant credits needed to enter university. I would follow the link that has already been posted to find out further information to see if it is for you!

Hello @Fleecas,

You may want to also consider other institutions with flexible entry requirements, like we have at LIBF. We view all applications holistically and will consider your personal statement, background, work, and other experience when assessing your ability to succeed in your chosen degree programme.

If this sounds interesting, you can explore our BSc Business Management course here - https://bit.ly/3uZyr2w

You can find out more about our entry requirements here - https://bit.ly/49W9pA7. You will also find contact details to speak with our study advisors, who can advise you based on your qualifications and experience, via email, phone or WhatsApp chat.

I hope that this is helpful! Good luck!

Becky
