Note in an ionic equation, you should miss out the "spectators ions" - ions which do not change at all for example in the 1st equation Zn^2+ does not change at all as on both side, the zinc is Zn^2+ so (what I think anyway) the equation should be:
CO3^2-(aq) + 2H^+(aq) ---------> H2O(l) + CO2(g)

I agree with the last one though. :smile:

That is right, spectator ions ought to be omitted from ionic equations.
