Basically just work from the bottom up. In the first one, identify the parts of the sentence:
Sandra - noun
hit - verb
the - determiner
teacher - noun
with - prep.
an - determiner
orange - noun
on - prep
his - determiner
head - noun

Then the groups:
Sandra - Group Noun
hit - Group verb
with an orange - group prepositional

The group prepositional then goes into the group verb, and then this joins with the Group noun to form the sentence - geddit?

^^ yep, that's how I'd do it too.

Thank you. Does the above answer also apply if the question asked you to 'give the syntactic structures' of the sentences?

Yep, though of course you could explain that one with or without using trees.
