Hi I have offers for French with Linguistics BA at Newcastle, for which I will pay 9k per year fees, or French with English Language MA at Glasgow which is free (I live in Scotland). I really want to study linguistics, but the massive cost is obviously a factor. I am worried that English Language will not be for me. Can anyone offer advice on the difference between the linguistics and English Language courses, and whether it is worth paying 36k in fees for the privilege of studying linguistics instead?
