Literature MA reading lists

I'm planning an Erasmus exchange term and looking into post-graduate English literature courses. I'm specifically looking at the module catalogue from the University of Kent, since my university has an Erasmus agreement with Kent. The post-graduate level courses in English and American Literature seem to have very long reading lists. Is having around 15 or 20 mandatory reading books per module the norm in post-graduate literature courses in the UK/at Kent? I wonder if the reading lists are longer because the modules are 15ECTs?
