Hi ive got offers for BA History at Notts, Birmingham and Manchester but not sure where i want to go.
Does anybody know where the best course would be? and does the city of Nottingham have as much to offer as Birmingham or Manchester?
Thankyou.

All depends on what you want to study - Notts and Birmingham have the best departments out of those 3 in general terms. Manchester really isn't anything to shout about.

Birmingham's quite rigid in some ways looking at their compulsory modules so you might want to look at that closely. Good department for both medieval, religion and modern areas. Notts is more well known for modern areas, including really modern subjects as gender, sexuality etc.

Best advice would be to look at the course outlines. Birmingham's is here: http://www.historycultures.bham.ac.uk/undergrad/history/overview.shtml and Notts' is here: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/history/courses/ug_courses_list.php?code=000720&page_var=c_det

I'd say the departments are on a par so it's personal preference. I know friends who have throughly enjoyed student life in Nottingham so guess it's what you're after?
