I'm applying for psychology next year, and am especially interested in developmental psychology. Can anyone recommend good books that could help me with my application? Thanks!
It covers most of the developmental areas / topics you will cover in your first / second year of university as a psychology student and it's story-like style makes it both accessible and easy to read.
A general psychology book I can recommend is 'The Man Who Mistook His Wife for A Hat' By Dr. Oliver Sacks:
As said above not Oliver Sacks! Its an interesting read but everyone using it and its important to point out that he's not a psychologist. I can't help you with specific books but make sure you don't just focus on how you like developmental psychology as it restricts what you want to do and the amount of developmental offered by universities differs greatly.
