The EU doesn't control 100% of our economy. As for laws, what opposition do you have about this? Most of them are regulations about trading standards.

Can you provide a link to the story about VAT on tampons?

No most of them are not about trading standards.
For example, fishing laws led to 115,000 job losses.

It was very widely publicised. Google works wonders.

I ask because you've brought it up. ''Go Google It'' is a lazy excuse.

May you provide links to those two things?

I'd guess one of the main reasons they're doing well is they're not giving over £55 million a day to the EU!

This sums it up pretty well.

Woah. You seriously don't understand sarcasm.

Oh and look here http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4046149
I think that is reasonable, the establishment deliberately triggered the referendum before leave could reach critical mass.

Fine then, 10% average. yet the EU controls 100% of our economy, 50% of our laws etc. etc. It's undemocratic.
All 28 leaders agreed to abolish the 5% VAT on tampons, yet this can be overturned by the European Commission, none of whom are elected. Fair, right?

Where are you getting this from?

Your parents?

This is akin to hate preachers telling young guys they'll get 77 virgins if they blow themselves up.

Er, and you brought up scaremongering? The EU doesn't have free reign to do whatever it likes over the UK, nor would it magically gain this power if we vote to remain. If you really think it can then please explain this to me.

By voice I mean the weight of our vote in the European Council and the number of MEPs we have in the European Parliament. Both are proportionate to our population. What do you mean by voice? Getting our way?

I'll ask again, but what bureacracy and red tape has stifled trade and healthy competition? Can you give some examples?

They know that after a referendum, they're out of any risk of us leaving the EU for a long time, so they won't think twice about imposing more undemocratic rules on us as there is no fear of us leaving as a result.

Yes I do mean getting our way. Is it such a radical view that the main decision makers in decisions that affect primarily the UK should be made by the UK?

EU red tape is resulting in thousands of job losses in my hometown due to the steel industry cutting thousands of jobs. http://uk.businessinsider.com/uk-steel-industry-caparo-tata-teeside-in-trouble-because-of-europe-steel-costs-not-just-china-2015-10

UK's fishing waters have been given to other EU nations, despite they are off the British coast and many miles from the coastline of any other EU country. http://www.thecommentator.com/article/6092/the_eu_s_betrayal_of_britain_s_fishing_industry

Like I said, go watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYqzcqDtL3k

It would take forever to type everything in detail and you can educate yourself in a much more timely fashion.

It's estimated around 7000 jobs have been lost in my local area due to the fishing directive :frown:

Well then clearly if the racists (I'm sorry, 'Euroskeptics' win and people vote to leave then we should also have another referendum.

Go on, I'll humour you, why is it racist to dislike an undemocratic political union?

It has hit my town especially hard as there's a small population. The cut affects about 10% of the town.

Yeah, lots of our town rely on fishing (fishmongers, restaurants) and we have to buy a lot of fish in now, even though we're a port
Suely you would call for as many referendums as you can, until you win? At that point it becomes final as the people have spoken the way you wanted them to?

Write it down? Upload photos of your notes?

I don't know, I am not the superstar who won a debate.

Though to make it easy on you, how about just showing how you came to that one point of information, that the EU controls 100% of the UK economy. Forget the rest of your research, show us that
It would be silly if both sides demanded a second referendum in the event of a narrow win by the other side. We could end up having referendum after referendum! Whatever the outcome it's going to be close and I think we should stick with the result.
can't barrage the farage

You mean it didn't have anything to do with the fact that we were excluded from our principal fishing grounds off Iceland following the loss of the Cod Wars?
