Social sci guy....

i love the social sciences...people from the hard sciences say they're inferior, but i think that of their studies. why? cos social sciences study people, we are all people, so we can more readily observe/test ourselves. it also has more direct application. NObody gives a **** if a new compound is discovered. Nobody also cares if rocks can be dated before the pre-Cambrian period.

But people care if a new way of treating disease occurs. Or if new psychological treatments are discovered. Or if better economic policies provide better jobs and better living standards. Or if an early homo sapiens skeletons helps us understand how we evolved, leading to better treatment of disease, better anatomical knowledge and a host of other stuff.

social sci is matter of fact, not hard/abstract/rigid crap.

sounds judgmental, but meh....just an honest view. hence why this is called social sci guy....

I saw Mrs. May's interview with Andrew Marr today.

Political interviewers are pretty dopey.

For instance, how come he asked her "Will you or not call an early election?" She said NO, for **** sake. Why then keep probing her? and she had a point, a general election is last thing we need. And unlike Labour, the Tories we're quite united. So having a small minority is pretty moot. IF the economy keeps together, then there is no issue in winning in 2020.

But I don't despise him, he's a dude for what he's done.

But then:

- he plays the same tactics all the time, in every game
- he lacks motivational skills
- he dithers too much in transfer market*
- he's not strong tactically
- the 98 Double or the League win in 2004 mean ****, that was a long time ago. now is now.

* yes, we spent 96 million. But then he could have signed them early in the window. Overall, he should be commended for the window, 7/10. Would be 8 or 9 if we got a really top striker, but I'm willing to give Lucas a chance.

i don't get why people hate trans people.

it's a condition. proven differences in the brain.

i know peple don't get it, which is understandable. but then if a person with a cleft palate shoudn't be hated, then a trans person shouldn't either.

god is unknowable. some clergyman or the Pope, or an Imam or pundit, is telling you what some people long ago who wrote the Koran or Bible thought was right.

morals don't come from religion. and there is no contradiction in being non-theist and living in society as some Christians think. Things like "love one's fellow man" don't come from religion. Basic civility is something that exists in all human cultures, the Bible didn't tell us this. We have morals as a system of getting along, which is independent of any religion. Most morals of 2016 UK are independent of the Bible anyhow. Social equality, anti-racism, anti-sexism, are not inspired off the Bible. Sexual openness isn't either. If anything, Christians who espouse these values are not living per the Bible's teachings, they are the dishonest ones, not theists.

And it's not part of being a "minority" either. Most people of our age don't give a **** about religion, it's people who are blinded/dogmatic who project that society is religious. if anything, non-theists are the majority and secular thinking is the norm now, not blinded people who live in sheltered worlds.
