for the following set of equations find the value of z

could you show your working as its not given in the exam mark scheme

X - Y + Z = 7-(1)
-X + 3Y - 2Z = -10---(2)
2X - Y - Z = 0--(3)

thanks guys! :frown:

how would you solve a pair of simeltaneous eqs , here you have 3 unknowns
if you add the first 2 equations you can see the x's cancel
then you can form with(1+2) and (3) solve them simletaneously

QUESTION 2

IF (2x-1)(2+5x) = Ax to the power of 2 + BX + C what is the value of B

thanks guys! :frown:

[A] Coefficient of x2x^2 must be 10 because 2 x 5=10
[C] The constant term is the product of (- 1) and (2) so equals -2
The coefficient of xx is the sum of (-1)(5) plus (2)(2)
