For politics Oxbridge > everyone else, however, neither university offers IR at undergraduate level.

Rep wise, IR - in my opinion anyway - goes something like this:

1) LSE
2) St Andrews
3) Aberystwyth/Sheffield/Durham/Warwick

I always thought that Sheffield was quite poor for IR but strong for British pol?

Sheffield's easily top 10 for both.
Warwick
Birmingham
Leeds
QMUL

Durham for IR? Nearly everything i've heard mentioned about it is negative, other than its specialisation on the middle east, the department appeared somewhat, erm, substandard?

I also had the idea Sheffield excelled in straight politics but wasn't anything special for IR (but by no means poor)?
