can you hear people talking/ music at a normal volume?? cuz i don't wanna do my workout DVD at like 8 in the morning and wake everyone up are they thin enough that you can hear everything going on next door or can you have some privacy??
I would imagine everywhere is different - I'm in Sheffield and the walls are very soundproof, I could hear someone if they talked loudly the other side of the wall, or slammed a door but that's about it. Why not just tell your flatmates what you want to do, and tell them if it wakes them up then to just tell you and you can be quieter or stop.

yeah warning them sounds like a good idea...guess i'll find out when i move in on saturday
Which halls are you in? New Rootes has pretty thin walls, though probably not the thinnest I've seen. A bigger problem is the doors which truly leak sound - if somebody's talking in the corridor it's as if they were in your room.
