Hi all

Sorry for jumping in on the convo.. I had an interview @ hertfordshire uni for the QTS primary teaching for ks2 however I think the interview was mixed with KS1 and KS2 applicants. My interview was on Wednesday 2nd of Feb and I haven't heard anything from them. Does anybody know how long it takes or has anyone already heard back. I have been waiting for what feels like months!

Thanks

G

Hiii i interviewed at herts on Feb 9th for keystage 1/2
The man told us 2-3weeks for any news (good or bad) although i would assume that rejections would happen sooner rather than later. Im still waiting to hear back so im glad to hear of someone else who hasnt heard either

Yep got all my offers now so just got to reply going to make sheffield my firm choice and leeds met my insurance. Sheffield seems very good as its only a three year course and a lot of the others are 4 years and i'll be commuting so it's easy to get to with it being near the train stations. Can't wait to start!! Is it your first choice? xx

Hey G!
Don't be sorry we like new people  Well done on your interview. I had a mixed interview at UWE for KS1 and KS2 applicants - worked really well I thought, as we had a short debate about why we had chosen KS1 or KS2! That interview was on 24th November... and I still haven't heard back! Unfortunately your wait could be a long one like ours. Good luck! x

Hey thanks for getting bk to me so soon. Lol I am a newbie and still haven't really figured out how to use this site. Wow you have been waiting such a long time I have been waiting only a few weeks and I am dying to know the verdict. What uni's have you applied for? Yea i had a mixed interview too and I thought it was quite a good idea and the interview day was such fun at Hertfordshire uni. Thank u and good luck x

Hiya

The man told us the same which is why Ive started to worry.. but like you said hopefully no news is good news and it would make sense to send out rejections first. thanks for replying we are not alone after all.. this whole process has been fun but daunting! Good luck and let me know if you hear back

I would advise taking prompt cards not actual notes
When I had my interview, i glanced down to see what I was going to say next, but don't sort of read off your notes as they want to see that you are confident speaker. X

Hi, I've applied this year to:
Leeds Met (unsuccessful)
Lincoln (unsuccessful)
Derby (interview)
Sunderland (interview)
Manchester (nothing as yet)

My sunderland interviews on friday morning and I'm terrified, I only got about a week and a halfs notice! Has any got any tips or already had this interview? I never even expected to get any interviews so was really not prepared for my first one to be done so quickly!

I have my Sunderland interview tomorrow so I'll let you know what it's like!

Does anyone know what the process for interview is for York St John and Durham? They're the only two Uni's I STILL haven't heard from and I sent my application off in November :/ xx

I'm not sure how they're doing it for Durham- I thought my interview was the last lot but then some other people have them this week. Maybe they're seeing how one lot go, then calling up another, then another?!
It would be so much easier if they all did the same thing, and if they were all upfront with what they were doing! xx

Yeah I agree! I though they'd follow the routine of whoever got their application in first is the first for interview process and so on! :frown: I'm not too bothered about Durham as that's my last choice as I want to specialise in early years, but YSJ seem to be taking forever handing out invites too!

Maybe they just don't want me  xx
