In the second round, Sheffield went through because of their high conversion rate on the bonuses even though Aberdeen had more starters. This time, Imperial won despite having fewer starters.
Did not enjoy seeing the physics bonuses go dead :frown:

Four times now, Amol Rajan has mentioned the number of starters that a player got - and every time that player's team went on to lose

That starter on entropy in black holes really annoyed me. Listing a bunch of fundamental constants that happen to be in an equation isn't a clue.
Imperial played a blinder. Mr Lee was oarsum :adore:

i only squeezed 5 past the students:

i) Walton

ii) What is love

iii) Lech Wałęsa

iv) Catalysis

v) Mollusca

That was large. Looking forward to the semis. Too early to tell who their opponents might be, but because Imperial won both their matches, it'll have to be a team that lost one match in the quarter finals.
the first half was quite difficult. thereafter i squeezed four past the students

i) King's Lynn

ii) Salmon

iii) Scarlet Pimpernel

iv) Silicon

Quite sad to see Sheffield out, but Birkbeck deserve to stay on after that performance. Bit surprised nobody got the music starter, but that was a particularly tough music bonus set.

It seemed as though people weren't expecting much of Corpus Christi going into the quarter-finals so it's been nice to see them performing particularly well in the past two games. Picture and music rounds seemed especially hard this week.

The semifinals of UC always pair a team that won both QF matches against a team that lost one; since they try to avoid repeat matches, it should mean that Manchester play UCL in their semi-final (and either Trinity or Birkbeck playing Imperial).
Wham Bam Thankyou Kang !!

Trinity played a blinder. Plenty of math & chemistry questions for them to get their teeth into.

I was hoping they'd ask about Marianne Ihlen in that bonus set, I was disappointed.

Imperial now the first university to reach the final 6 times in the BBC era.
