Im not living on campus either  Going to be a pretty long ride there though...

Apply for accomodation anyway, you don't have to accept the offer. Just click decline once it comes through. BUT it gives you time to think about it properly. I know a few people who regret commuting now.

Just my two pence!

I'll be able to decline it afterwards? Awesome  I'll definitely be applying for accommodation then! Thanks for the info

Anyone else not living on campus?

Yep, me.

I live about 15 miles away so I thought I'd save myself some money.

Yeah I'm gonna be travelling about 12 miles, but I'm worried about being a loner tho!

I commuted 10 miles in first year (though due to the vagueries of public transport that took me at least an hour each way:rolleyes:), I'm lazy and live in a student house in Egham now, but don't worry too much about being a loner. It's tougher to do things randomly as you have to plan ahead but if you make the effort to talk to people and be friendly it's fine. Possibly worth doing just for the experience. Also I made friends with fellow commuters on my bus as well so it's not all lonely times ahead!
