annoying integral!!! pos rep will be given to whoever points out the stupid mistake!
maple tells me that
∫ln(x+x2 )dx=xln(x+x2 )-2x+ln(1+x)
however i get
xln(x+x2 )-2-2x+ln(1+x)
i dont know where that rogue 2 is coming from!!
my method was:
by parts:
∫ln(x+x2 )dx=xln(x+x2 )-∫(x+2x2 )/(x+x2 ) dx
and i then used substitution u=1+x to solve the integral bit.
please tell me what i have done wrong!!
∫ln(x+x2 )dx=xln(x+x2 )-2x+ln(1+x)

Your answers are the same. The only difference is that Maple considered the -2 part of the constant of integration.
