You can do it whenever you want (apart from 10pm Friday to 10pm Sunday).
Most private investors do it after work; and because currency markets are open 24 hours a day 5 days a week, it doesn't matter whether you're on a night shift or whatever.
On average private investors do it for 1-2 hours a day, but you could spend just 5mins if you want to or 10hrs - it's really flexible and up to you.

I know nothing about economics or investment but I'm not looking to make a living, just to do something productive and perhaps make a bit of cash if possible. I don't mind even losing a bit of cash.
