Yeah sucks doesn't it, whats been the best thing about year 10 for you?

Umm.. Probably that I'm just a lot more involved in things and I just have a higher self-esteem than I did from the things I do now. Duke of Edinburgh, Young Enterprise, Latin classes etc.. I'm nearly always exhausted from that, plus school work and socialising, but I enjoy it all  , so all's good. Year 10's been an eventful year so far.

How's it been for you?

Latin teachers are a bit.. erm... excentric. Mine was as well.
You're keeping german.*huggles you* The one think I'll reccomend you to do is to NOT spend the time between your last GCSE german exam and going back to school/ college in september doing no german. I did that. Bad times. Still getting told off for my word order being pants :/

Haha, yeah my sister did that with French and I just laughed at her as she tried to remember everything she'd learnt from the past year on the bus journey on the first day back.

But I actually enjoy German so it shouldn't be too hard.

The Btec's just a bunch of units to complete; most of which are rehearsal diaries to fill out that state what you've done every lesson. I was telling my teacher how bored i was with it and he promised to tech us grade 5 theory in class time so it is a really flexible course. what do you do in GCSE?

In a way thats good I suppose, you can do whatever you want in the course
I'm pretty sure its an Edexcel course. We have to learn about 12 set works from all kinds of stuff from Jazz, to Handel. Silly thing is, were only tested on two of them

Not bad very busy though, so social life outside of school is pretty non existant at the moment :frown: D of E is good, have you been on your expedition yet? Do you take Latin for GCSE? Yeah year 10s not bad, apart from all the annoying work you have to do haha

That's strange :s-smilie:, but it's good you get to learn a variety of things. we've been singing Devlin for the past month. I'd kill to do some jazz. lol.

So what's your favourite subject?

Same, biology is probably my most favourite science. Suck at the other two tbh.

More Year 10s ! I think we should invade a Year 11 thread and take it over, like er, Libyan rebels or summat. Declare a no fly zone. My grades are fine but still waiting on some AQA 1b science ones. What do people want to do after GCSEs?

they are aren't they? in the P2 exam results i felt happy because I got an a. Everyone else in the class got a C or below. i struggled the most out of everyone. The physics unit is so confusing!
Yes! Finally, a Year 10 thread!

What did you get in your GCSE January modules? I sat 21st Century OCR Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and got A A*A*, so I was really pleased (surprised, as I didn't get a word that the teacher said...) The next modules (4, 5 and 6) are much more about balancing equations, electron configurations, so probably harder exams :frown: Annoyed slightly, though, as we have 8 exams in May/June 2011... does anyone know when we get our results? Someone I know got the reults sent to her in August, whereas others had to wait until September...

MAY+JUNE Exams:

1) Edexcel A Geography 'The Human Environment'
2) Edexcel A Geography 'The Natural Environment'
3) Edexcel A History 'Germany 1918-39'
4) Edexcel A History 'USA A divided union?'
5) OCR B Religion and Applied Ethics 'Ethics 1'
6) OCR B Religion and Applied Ethics 'Philosophy 1'
7) OCR 21C Physics P4 P5 P6
8) OCR 21C Chemistry C4 C5 C6

All exams are relatively easy, apart from Chemistry, Physics and the History sources paper (USA divided union), which I absolutely fail at... may get a tutor.....

Started revising, but also got an English controlled assessment next Friday and the week after that, so writing that too. Has anyone else started revising, if so, what are you doing? Revision guides, note condensing, etc? I actually bought some podcasts on GCSEPod, which are great, as it takes me 30 mins to get home from school on the Tube and train, so I can sit there and take in more information... well worth a look!
OCR? I have aqa sciences
Next we will have 'Current toddler thread'
Year 10's! Whoo!

I did Bronze in year 9, so I've done a lot of expeditions  . We nearly failed our final last year - we were walking up a huge steep hill and the examiner was behind us, and there was one girl who was struggling behind us and stopped for a minute, so we carried on up and the examiner saw that there was a gap in our group and wasn't best pleased. But luckily he didn't fail us. Do you do D of E then?

My final is in a month  . And nope, I do Latin as an extra activity, wish I could do the GCSE - but I've only started this year and it's meant to be too hard to jump onto the GCSE course that early, so I doubt I'll get to do it :frown: . Maybe year 11 I hope :colondollar:

I got the same, well done - you're talking about the core science modules right? One mark off an A* in the Biology,. Never mind.

I've started revising - for Maths, I'm just trying to get it out of the way now to take off the pressure off revision for the exams, I find module 5 the hardest; Algebra I can do, Shape (the harder stuff) I cannot. Maths is the easiest to prepare for though imo, so if I can get my head round it early a lot of pressure should be gone.
