You're just oppressed and ostracised for it. You get called "have a life" most of the life. People say to you "grades mean nothing" and that social skills matter.
So what's the point? What's the point in studying?
I'm academically homosexual. I can't change the way I am.

I know that feeling.
To get into a good uni and get a good job! Don't give up hope.
Neither can I. I have actually tried many times. The more I try, the more academically inclined I become. I have given up trying to change myself in that respect now.
You are fine the way you are - if people don't like it, then stuff them!

Seems like I have to *wait* until university, but
It's sad that education is reduced to "a means to getting into a good uni and a good job" so you can pay the bills, get married, have kids, have a house, have a dog, receive pension and die.
Anyone else a little bit intimidated by the thought that this time next week we'll be getting our GCSE results? Or even more scary, that this time next year we'll be getting are AS results? And worse, than in two years we'll be seeing if we're getting to Uni or not?
Good luck good luck good luck good luck for your A level result! I'm sure you'll have done really well & am crossing my fingers for you, but either way I'm right here if you want to be congratulated/ have someone to rant and cry at. xxx

Canus canum edit. It is sad yes. You can always do it for you own enjoyment though ?

Yeah - there are bound to be like-minded people there.
I was just stating obvious advantages but personally, I find studying fun.

Thank you very much!
3 hours 52 minutes until I know how I have done. We shall see, then.

(We're all interested in the A level people I think)
Ah it's 9am in the morning where I am I can imagine this thread being very busy the night before the gcse results day So what a level results are people getting back?

Yeah me too! Only we do have a facebook message, a chatroom planned & a GCSE results day thread which will dissipate it.
I'm not getting any - just hopeful for my TSR friends. ML is getting Maths AS.
I am getting my FSMQ, food tech and core 4 back. What will you be getting back? I felt slightly better after checking the grade boundaries yesterday. Every result that I would get tomorrow has really low grade boundaries I should hopefully get an a star equivalent after finding out you only need 58 out of 75 for 90 UMS in core 4. How did you think you did?
