2^-3 divided by (2^-7)^2

i got 1^11 but my calculator says 2^11?

yeah! that i sbecuase you must have cancalled 2 in the dinominator wit the two in the numerator which you can not do! otherwise, it fairly simple problem

I understand this but I always thought that you had to include the numbers as welll, so I cancelled the 2's. If I had..

3^3 X 3^-2 X 3^0 would it equal 9 then or 3?

You do know that 1^(any power) is 1 I am sure

so you are pretty much saying that a^n / a^m = 1

You will see that your rule still has the a so you still need the 2

This is a stupidly easy question but is 2^2 X 2^3 = 2^5 or 4^5??

3-2+0 = 1

3^1 = 3
