Omg I'm totally dreading the memory side of it! Everything about memory just kills me fml :|
I prefer developmental, so much easier in comparison!

I done this exam in January 2011.
I've got A's in the PSYA2 and PSYA4.
I got a B in the PSYA1 but that was without revision.
I'm studying psychology at university this september so i need an A overall hence why i'm resitting the B

It's such an easy exam dont worry about it!
Tips: Dont bother remembering every single researchers name; i got away with just saying 'a researcher conducted a study'.
Remember majority of the paper is research methods.
Plan your 12 marker essay and revise that before the exams

good luck!

Anyone know what may come up?
I don't think the 12 mark will be on the strengths and weaknesses of either the multi-store model OR working memory which sucks because they would have been good ones but they've both come up before!

Other than that not totally sure what will come up, possibly something to do with John Bowlby's theory... Not sure if that's come up before.

ARGH this is possibly my least favourite unit out of all 4 of them. Used to love developmental but I'm really sick of it at the moment. :/

Resitting this exam so I can get a B overall. Got a C in PSYA1 and PSYA2 and a B in PSYA4.

This exam is easy compared to the other 3 units. I'm also doing PSYA4 so resarch methods is a breather though I do find attachment quite boring but as a whole its not difficult when u compare it to the workload at A2.

Personally I think the 12 marker with be on daycare.

The hardest part of the exam. 12 mark esssay and crappy Research Methods.
The only stuff i find hard in attachment is the crappy day care stuff and privation/deprivation the rest is piss.

Yeah my teacher thinks the 12 marker could be on day care  I need to start revising research methods :/

I've got a feeling the 12 marker will be on 'Daycare' too - there's a lot that you can talk about and I don't think it's come up as a 12 marker before whereas most of the other topics have. Just remember the 3 main daycare studies in particular and you wont have a problem as you can easily get 6 knowledge and 6 evaluation points from them!

Dilila - Against Daycare
Shea - For Daycare
Campbell - Supports both bits of research. Shorter days more often = good. Long days less often = bad. Don't forget to mention quality of daycare too!

Yeah I would do the same  I'm quite worried about research methods....just because there's so much of it!

I got a C in the mock....bit disappointed because i thought it went better, but made some stupid mistakes  My teacher thinks the essay might be on Day care, only from looking at past question, etc.

daycare's alright - it could only be discuss research into .. etc x
Not looking forward to attempting to get A's in PSYA1, PSYA3 and PSYA4 in the next few weeks to get into uni :frown:

Yeah I reckon the 12 marker will be on day care too. That's what I predicted for the Jan exam but it wasnt so it's got to be this time!

Has everyone learnt studies on research into duration, capacity, encoding of STM and LTM? Not sure whether we actually need to?

I reeeeeeeeaaalllllly want an A.

I just came up with an essay plan for research into day care (12). Please could you guys have a quick over look on it and tell me whether I am missing anything which is vital?

- Stating that research is generally mixed.
- Shea - finding that day care has positive outcomes and explaining the procedure of her study.
- DiLallo - day care is likely to affect socialisation.
- Campell - earlier the better.
- Belksy and Rovine - limitting daycare to 20 hours.
- Larna - there are no differences.

And then in my evaluation I can mention reductionism and how other aspects are likely to be influential too. Practical applications and how research has resulted in high quality care. And maybe I could evaluate some methodogy such as Sheas use of video cameras etc.

Thank you! And I hope this helps others who might need some help on this area!

Could someone help me understand how a operationalised variable actually differs from a variable? Is it just 'elaborated'?

Hiya.
From what I learnt is that an operationalised variable is defining each variable in your study so that they can be easily measured, replicated and manipulated. e.g. what constitutes agression ie fighting, shouting, hitting someone.

Are you doing module 2 too?
