When I was at uni, we also had to do personal study of 32-40 hours a week. Hence the little contact time.

Yeah, most courses do.

Now imagine a timetable with nearly 30 hours contact time, in addition to all the personal study. That's what I mean by having a LOT more time!

£9000 a year

30 weeks in a year

10 hours a week

300 hours of lectures

£9000 / 300 hours = £30 per hour

(which is alright in my opinion *if your going to a top university)

£20 per hour is how much i charge students for private tuition.

not to mention if you get 15+ hours a week its less than or equal to £20 per hour

if u get -5hours a week then its more like greater than or equal to £60 per hour

so glad im in scotland
I've got a pretty chilled out timetable to be honest. At the moment, I'm off on Wednesdays and Fridays and have a maximum of 3 hours on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is supposed to result in me doing heaps of reading, research and other general uni work in my own time. Unfortunately it's not quite worked out like that...:colondollar:
Mon- 3.5hours
Tues3.5 hours
Wed free
Thurs 5 hours
Fri free
Wednesday - 2 hours, 11-1
Thursday - 2 hours, 3-5.

3rd Year Forensic Investigation.

23 hours a week, 9am every day except Wednesday which is 10am. First year Computer Science. The worst thing is it's really spread out..
This thread would be so much better if everyone had stated their course :colondollar:

Wanna know the average for biology tbh.
2nd year Astrophysics

Monday: 9-5 labs every other week (thankfully I'm over the weekly labs  )

Tuesday: Lecture 9-11
Lecture 11-1
1-2 free
Lecture 2-4
Lecture 4-5

Wednesday: 1 hour tutorial (either at 10 or 11 depending on the week)

Thursday: Lecture 9-10
Lecture 10-11
Free 11-2
Lecture 2-4

Friday: Free

I enjoy the free days, and the relatively empty Wednesday, but that Tuesday is tough, the concentration required for 7 hours of lectures with only an hour off is really tough. I appreciate my relative lack of labs compared to students of other sciences though
Nursing

Mon-Fri 9-5 with slight variations depending on the week. And 37.5 hour placement week working earlies, lates and nights, which makes it very hard to actually get uni work to do I have so many essays hanging over my head at the moment and no time to do them!
