Hello! I would like to ask what are my chances of entering into Imperial-NTU and Imperial. My BMAT score is 4.7 6.2 2.5B. I'm an international student. Any idea when I'll know if I'm rejected or accepted for interview? Thanks!

Hi! I'm applying next year with American APs (but I'm british). I've seen on the website that UCL only takes A levels and IB points? How many exceptions do they make for this? I'm predicted ten 5s and one 4. (5 is like an A* at A2 level) Would I be a candidate?

UCL I'm pretty sure would consider the AP programme- they indicate Ib/A Levels on their website but that's only because they are the most common programmes undertaken. Email them for AP expectations.

Just so you know, a 5 is no where near equivalent to an A* at A Level- the AP system is much less specialised than the A Level system and as a result American students often take 8/9/10+ APs. It's probably more comparable to the IB system. Remember most A level students only take 3 A2. It doesn't take much to realise that the content of those is more than in programmes where people take many more subjects. They are completely different programmes and it's not wise to compare them in such a manner.

Oh my, I got an interview! Can't believe they replied so quick, I didn't even send them any one of the things they asked for (AS statement of results and work experience information). It's on the 12th December :3 I'm so happy. Anyone else?

What do you mean AS statement of results + work experience information? I didn't receive any email asking for that? I included all of my module grades and wrote a lot about my work experience, but the only time they contacted me was with the general letter to all applicants.
I need some help, I didn't know there was a special consideration form for the BMAT and unfortunately I needed it. I was just wondering what I should do, should I email the unis directly, I've already email cambridge assess asking for help but I'm not sure they will reply soon enough. I applied to Cam and UCL. :s-smilie:
Does anyone know how much emphasis UCL put on the BMAT essay?
Is there hope if you did really, really bad in section 1 and 2 but did pretty well in 3 ??:s-smilie: Thanks!

UCL have been known to put quite a bit of emphasis in S3, but other than that it is anyone's guess to be honest. Unlike Imperial however, the do use a holistic approach which I LOVE!!!

Hi, I've read that some people were asked to provide more information about their AS results and work experience, was this everyone? I haven't heard anything from them since the general admissions email back in October. I did enter all of my individual module grades and I wrote quite a lot about my work experience in my personal statement.

Also, do you think that by this stage, if you haven't been invited to interview, you won't be until after Christmas?

Providing all other aspects are good, do you think a BMAT score of 5.6, 5.0 and 4A should guarantee an interview?

Thanks

Thanks! I was really happy. Especially with the essay.

But as for the first part, do you know anything about AS grade inquiries etc? I've seen a few people mention them asking for specific UMS, but yet I've never seen that mentioned on their website. Any thoughts?

I've also heard about those inquiries, however I do think they are randomly sent to applicants...

Don't worry if you didn't receive any of those, you will not be disadvantaged in any way!

I'm pretty sure it's just random check-ups.
Why couldn't I just get a 3 in the essay? I have done an AS in an essay subject and I know I can write a good one but I've completely wrecked an otherwise good profile with a **** page of writing. I am praying ucl overlook it but I don't think they will

I know it's hard to tell, but with a BMAT of 4.1, 4,6, 3.5A do I realistically stand a chance? My other academics are good, but by no means are they outstanding :/ Just how much will being below average in section 1 let me down?

I really don't think UCL will mind your essay score that much, I got the same last year in the essay and much lower scores in s1 and 2 and got an interview and offer ^^

(I felt the same way too, I thought I would at least get a 3 and when I got the essay back at interview I still thought it was fine! Luckily they didn't mention the score I got for it  )

Haha okay! Thanks! I hope they're more lenient this year! Sigh. I thought I met all the essay requirements but I don't intend to appeal. How I wish I'd done better for essay and S1. Hmm.. Any idea when the results for interview will be released for international students?

Is there anyone who got a low essay mark but still accepted for an interview? And which university accepted you? Thanks!(:

It's not a diaster if you didn't do well in S3! People have got in with just 2A so don't worry too much, you still have a chance!

What was your interview like if you don't mind me asking? Did they talk about your BMAT essay at all?
