Access Course issue with GCSE equiv HELP!

Hiya. If anybody knows anything or have done an Access to HE course I could really do with some help. Its a bit confusin. Basically my second uni choice are saying that I need 12 level 2 credits in order to have GCSE equivalent in Science from my Access course. I have actually got 9 credits at level 2 and 3 credits at level 3 for science (which equals 12). They are saying that the level 3 doesnt count in the total of 12 credits cause it needs to be level 2 but surely it is better than having 12 level 2s. Do you see what I mean. Im confused and they are about to let me know whether im rejected or not due to 'not meeting entry requirements'. Can anyone shine any light on this? Im so confused. Thanks x x
