that game nearly ruined my life...
wasted so many hours on that crappy game, played it so much that it sort of became a bad habbit.. would play like 5+ hours a day

best game moment was when i got 600m from a drop party.

It's a bit sad really that 7 years of that game only got me £700 cash when i sold everything...

I've clocked up almost 120 DAYS worth of playing on that game. That's over a third of my adolescence gone. It was fun while it lasted. It definitely caused some pain because I was so addicted at times. I neglected friends, work and events because all I wanted to do was play RS. I wish I'd spent my time more wisely to be honest. I think my best moment was getting 99 Runecrafting... becoming absurdly rich from merchanting was pretty fun too. I think I sold around £200 worth of gold in the end. I just can't sell my whole account, I've spent too long on that game just to sell it. It still feels like a part of me.

Oh it was great, I used to spend ages harvesting that flux stuff (is that what it was called) and selling it for loads of money. Then one day, I decided I was sick of it and didn't want use Runescape anymore, so I randomly sent a message saying 'I'm leaving RS who wants money' and then I literally gave all my money (it was a lot!) to the guy who came up to me. It was his lucky gaming day!
I would do it all over again, I'm level 137 and haven't logged on in 3 and a half years

Anyway, best ingame moments was definitely spending time chatting to people and going to group events, without the people behind it I would have quit ages ago.
I still keep my account, so it can remind me of some of the little achievements I have and how I spent my youth lol.

That game was a blessing and a curse at the same time; I played it for around 4 years (quit around about year 11). It was so fun but also so addictive to the point that it had the capacity to ruin lives. I had many good in game moments, but I'd say the best ones were getting awesome drops (Barrows quests were good for drops; got so much Barrows armour and it made me quite a bit of GP). I also got a few dragon item drops. Also, getting skills to 99 felt pretty good.

Yes I would. I absolutely loved RS. It was the freedom and the ability to turn your cute, little level 3 into a beast. I fell out of love with the game over the changes that happened within it. Still class game.

Edit: My highlight was making my first million. Felt like a boss.

How did you sell it and how much did you get for it? Could do with the extra cash as I'm pretty sure I have around £300m sitting in the bank. Similar to you, although I never have the urge to play the game again, I would feel wierd selling it after the years I put into it.

I defiantly think the best moments for me were when I was new and everyday you could find out something new. Being given full iron armour and getting so excited lol. This game was defiantly my best kept secret.

Ugh, misspent youth.

How I regret ever hearing of that game looking back. Admittedly it was a laugh messing about with mates, but the endless hours of 'training' were all for naught.

I genuinely believe I put more time into playing that game then studying for my A-Levels and University degree combined (I could probably comfortably include contact time in lessons and lectures in that as well).

:frown:
I played this game. But I never enjoyed it. I have no memorable (good) moments.

Best moments were Pking with my real life friends, Playing Castle wars and soul wars and finally was dungeon

Would i do it again? Nope, cause what a waste of my life that was...:frown: now that i have quit, i can see how badly it has affected me :frown: but i enjoyed playing it though but wouldnt do it again sadly.

I used to play it quite a bit but quit after I got bored spending ages leveling up.
However, I've never completely given it up...
I seem to log on annually (in exam revision time) and play for 2-3 days before I either realise that I'm procrastinating too much or just get tired of it. I doubt I'll ever give it up completely though. Very good game, in a unique way.

Best gaming moment: Probably when I finished the last free quest.

Edit: Negs??

I liked RS and started to play back in 2004. Once I hit 99 in my first skill (Hunter), I lost pretty much all motivation to play. My fondest memories actually had more to do with fansites rather than the game itself. I met some awesome people on RS fansites and even started to write quest guides (back when there weren't so many). I still keep in touch with a couple, though they too have moved on from the game.

I would definitely play it again. It was my first real taste of the Internet and it also led me to realize what a valuable resource the Internet can be when you're not playing a Java-based RPG.

I had "quit" many times. The final time I quit, I decided to give away all my 12.5M to a nice level 12  Now I have no reason to go back
I still play :colondollar: I'm on a gap yah and I only work in the afternoon/evenings so it kills some time. Only level 56 though..
I would do it all over and in fact I still play, but the game has gone down a lot because of commercialisation so I started some private servers where the game is set in the 2006 era.

This game ruined my life during secondary school. I did the whole get 99 everything thing. Spent just over 2 years playing it before I realised I needed to quit big time. I was one of the first people on the game to reach 99 construction. I still have a lot of cash lying around

I wouldn't do it all over again..

Best moment: making real-life money through the sale of party hats.

I didn't play Runescape particularly much, spent around 26 days total, but I recently got back into it, just for some laughs and to complete some of the questlines (which are more epic and fun than quests in most other MMO's).

I've spent a lot of time in MMO's, around 140 days total over around 8 years, but I've never felt like it has impacted my life negatively. My grades weren't affected, nor my social life - I simply played MMO's as my recreation, I didn't watch TV or play any other games.

I played Runescape the way I wanted to, zero grinding for the 99 skillcapes and crap like that, just focused on trading, making gold and doing quests. And I found it pretty fun, and still do! I think my strength was realising how pointless getting 99 skill levels was, so I didn't get that feeling of 'wasted youth' like you tools have

Though I've got into more competitive games now, especially LoL.
