The Student Room Group

Cost of uni

Hi, trying to choose what uni to apply to for midwifery. Can anyone tell me how much financial assistance i could expect. I understand that the NHS pay the fees and maybe a grant depending of my folks income (29k). My problem is the uni I would like charges quite lot for accommodation.

Would I be able to get a student loan as well as the grant.

I would realy appreciate some examples from a student starting this year

Thanks
Yes if your household income is 29k then you will get a £4,292 loan and a £2,416 non-repayable grant from student finance. You will most likely get grants from the unis on top of this for doing an NHS course and for having an income below a certain amount, you'll probably be looking at getting about £2,000 a year for this, depending on the uni
