This may have been answered before (sorry if it has) but has anyone heard anything from Dere Street Barristers?

Second rounds are completed and a decision made. Candidates will be notified in accordance with the standard timeline.
I'm waiting to here from Albion & 30 PP

Anyone know when we can expect to hear back, post first round interviews, from Pump Court or 23 Essex Street?
Well I've been lurking for a while so thought I'd pipe up.

I didn't apply to 9 park Place- but if you did and you haven't heard then I would, unfortunately, take it as rejection. I have a few friends whose interviews are all lined up there.

I haven't heard anything so far from Albion, Guildhall, 30 Park Place, or Angel chambers.

Good luck all x
Devereux second round invites are out.

Not a peep. Would have thought we'd be hearing fairly soon

Is anyone else suffering from terrible nerves at this time of year? I have second rounds coming up and I'm feeling nauseous every day, having trouble sleeping and am constantly on edge.

It sounds ridiculous but I want so much to succeed that I'm really letting things get to me. I'm fine once I get into the interview itself, but one of my second rounds in particular requires a lot of preparation and I'm not getting very far at the moment.

Ok. What you are experiencing is an entirely natural response to pressure. It sounds like you need a break even if you think you don't have time to take one. In fact, you don't have time not to.

Adrenaline is useful but stress (as opposed to pressure) is not and stress won't actually help you achieve anything. Are you exercising/getting fresh air/drinking enough water/eating healthily? All if those things will help.

Try to summon the courage to allow yourself a couple of hours off, or a whole afternoon/evening if you can. I promise you will feel better and be much more productive as a result.

Good luck.
Parlourgames is entirely right. A genuine break, even of a few hours or a day, will work wonders. I'd also focus on breathing - it sounds ridiculous, but learning how to calm down with a few deep breaths can really help.

Guys I know it is a stressful time and we are all desperate to get our foot in the door and do well, but just remember this: there IS more to life than becoming a barrister. All the best to all of you.

I had an interview there last week - not sure if they're going in batches or not.

Moving next door, has anyone heard from 3 Stone Buildings? Or to jump specialism and Inn, Atkin?
Is anyone else slightly confused by St Ives deadline being tomorrow and first rounds on Saturday? Seems very quick to me. Not that I'm entirely complaining. Just not use to a quick turn around! 18SJS have had my application 6 months now because I applied by the original 31st Jan deadline!

At the risk of sounding patronising and overbearing, in my experience it's really important to get a hold of the difference between natural stress and adrenaline, and that which is more serious and affects your broader health. I can't remember the statistics, but students are more at risk of mental health problems than the general population, and symptoms such as nerves and nausea can often be the first sign of something more serious. Obviously not saying you should rush to the doctors straight away or panic about it, but if it carries on or gets worse it might be worth a visit, even if just to check that it's all OK
29 Bedford row rejections after first interview are out... Very disappointing!

I still haven't had any news from 29BR - remains "applied" on the portal. Does anyone know why if people have been invited to interview?
