When should I apply for student loan/grant?

Hi, when is the best time to apply for a student loan? I think I heard you can apply from anytime is that right? Roughly how long is needed for it all to be sorted and applied for etc? :smile:

Do it ASAP just in case, Student Finance seem to always contrive to complicate even the simplest of applications.

Bear in mind it depends how much in the way of income support you're applying for. I only apply for the non-income-assessed loan as I wouldn't qualify for any other quantity anyway, so my confirmations tend to come through quite quickly :smile:

I tried to do it online a few day ago but I'm kinda stuck. Did you guys had to like ring up the student finance? Because I registered and when it was completed it was asking me for some kind of customer ref. number?
