Compter? Laptop? Tablet? Help!

So, I've been trying to do some research into what kind of gadgets I'm going to need for a Maths Degree. I have applied for just Mathematics.

Now, at home I have an iMac, an iPhone and an average Windows laptop. I am completely stuck as to whether I should transport my iMac back and forth from my Halls or to invest in an iPad or to just take a laptop?

Ultimately, what am I going to need? Will the University (University of Nottingham) facilities be enough? If so then I am tempted to just take an iPhone and iPad. However, if a lot of work needs to be done in my own time, maybe transporting my iMac back and forth is the best option. How often do Maths students use Word, Excel, Powerpoint?
