Where do UCAS get their information?

Where do UCAS get their information?

Manchester university haven't said what the entry requirements are for access course for petroleum engineering. But on UCAS course search, it says 15 credits at distinction and 15 at merit. Where did they get that information? Did they contact the university? I could contact them myself but I'm afraid they'll tell me it's something like 30-45 credits at distinction.

How are we supposed to know? The smart thing to do is contact the University and ask. I did an access course and Birmingham didn't say the entry requirements for the course so I emailed them and they told me.
