I'm thinking about doing a Liberal Arts degree?

I know they are quite big in the US, and some UK universities are introducing them now. I'm currently in Year 12 and I am not really what I would like to do with my life career-wise. I really enjoy languages, history, philosophy and business, but I'd like to learn more about subjects such as geography and economics. I was thinking liberal arts allows me to be flexible and add some variety to my education. Plus I'd get to spend a year abroad, which is a huge bonus for me.

However, I see a lot of people adding to them to the 'mickey mouse' degrees, since it's new and not exactly specialised. I'm not sure many UK/Europe employers would be interested. All of the unis that offer this course want AAB or higher so it does seem prestigious and challenging.

What do you think? My alternative option would be a languages degree with business.
Some very 'serious' Unis are offering Liberal Arts for the first time in 2014, so you shouldn't regard it as a Mickey Mouse degree, especially given the high A level grades these Unis are asking.

If you have an interest in studying across subject areas, and particularly in studying the connections between these subjects then LA is a very good route to take - especially with an integral Year Abroad.

Alternatively look at subjects that may be currently unfamiliar that might cover the areas you are interested in - you can take them as single subjects or combined with another subject - some examples :
