HELP!!

hey can someone please help me with this history qs:
Was the Cuban missile crisis a turning point in cold war relations??
Thanks
It was a turning point because both the US and the USSR realised that, if they carried on and if they used nuclear weapons, it would lead to MAD (mutually assured destruction). After the Cuban Missile crisis a hotline was set up between the American President and the Russian Premier, while the Limited Test Ban Treaty was finalised in August 1963- the US and USSR agreed to ban the testing of all nuclear weapons in sea, in the sean and above ground. Underground nuclear tests were still permitted.

Are you doing the iGCSE syllabus? If so then pick two factors and explain each in detail, making sure that you put a link in between the factors.

What you could say is: (in no particular order)

- hotline set up
- Limited Test Ban Treaty
- CMC highlighted the fragility of international relations
- US & USSR realised that nuclear war would mean MAD
- greater stablity in superpower relationship
- CMC meant that France left NATO
