What makes someone eccentric?

I reckon you get different forms of eccentricity...
1) verbal eccentricity. Think Profesh :rolleyes: Then you also have the people who make up or modify words and experiment with obscure syntax.
2) conceptual eccentricity - e.g., a surreal sense of humour, where you think that shouting 'cheese' is just hilarious.
3) style eccentricity, occasionally known as 'no style'.
I'm sure there are other forms. Generally, I doubt intelligence is necesary for the above traits to arise. However, brainy people may socialise differently/less than the average person, which could contribute to the forming of eccentricity.

[Edit: I also don't think you HAVE to be eccentric to be intelligent. I know some very nice normal people who also happen to be quite smart]
