Im tied between chemistry and economics for a degree. I have heard a lot about how economics appears to be a very generic and popular degree, making not as desireable as chemistry.

Is this the case?

Definitely not the case.

It just depends on what career/area you want to go into after university. Obviously if you're trying to be a Chemical Engineer then an Economics degree won't hold much value compared to a Chemistry one.
