Nope, I withdrew in the end. However I've managed to land a non-teaching contract there which allows me to do what I enjoy without the associated admin nonsense. Suits me much better than the PhD.

That's great that you found employment in the field you were after. It's a kind of leap of faith to change direction mid-life, so it's nice to know it can pay off.
