Acne getting worse

Have you been to see a gp? After months and months of acne i finally went to the Docors. She prescribed me cream for black heads and antibiotic tablets for my acne straight away. And mine isn't as bad as it yours sounds.

Been to my doctors about several things ranging from acne to mental health to appendicitis (3 separate gp surgeries) they just refuse to help and once nearly killed me, lost all faith in GPs and to be honest I'm sick of leaving the GP in tears. Not going back.
Funnily enough, when I didn't wash my face with cleansers in the morning, my skin actually improved!! (still washed at night)

Skin's an amazing organ - if we stop washing away all those necessary oils, perhaps it can do it's job better. (no scientist but it seemed to work for me)

I share this with lots of experience as I had really bad acne and was on 4 courses of roaccutane and laser treatment as well as unlimited traditional chinese remedies, lemon acid peel - you name it!! Nothing worked so save your money and sanity and use it for a great holiday or something - drug companies make enough money as it is

good luck with it...

I've been reading some of your comments here, have you tried benzoyl peroxide?

i edited my post. What reason did they give for not treating you?

Not acne related but it is part of my face which is also reducing my self esteem. I have a huge red scar underneath by eye after playing football i got kicked in te face and had to have it sterry striped.

There is a small red line which has got less visible over the years but just above it to the left there is a huge red circle which looks like a spot but its not.

Ive tried Bio oil and cocoa butter and yet the red circle is still so prominent on my face

Have you tried something called Kelo-cote (expensive but it seems to be quite good)

I second this! Epiduo is great, helped with the acne on my back.

Also drink a lot of water, you'll be surprised how much that helps!

They didn't really give a reason, just danced around the idea of treating me.

Yeah I've tried it in various forms and concentrations.
Can anyone recommend me a cleanser? I think the Sodium laureth sulfate in my Neutrogena one is causing a lot of my breakouts

I have oily and quite sensitive skin

Hey, at the moment I'm using the no7 hot cloth cleanser

http://www.boots.com/en/No7-Beautiful-Skin-Hot-Cloth-Cleanser_1245026/

it doesn't strip your skin completely of the natural oils so it prevents your acne getting worse from overcompensating oil production. I've been using it for about a week now and my skin is much softer, it's less oily and although it isn't getting rid of sports that are already on my face no new clusters have formed, it has also taken down a lot of redness in my skin which was my main problem. It's doing okay for me anyway, no guarantee it'll work for you or anyone else but I recommend it, especially since you have sensitive skin. And with you having oily sin the absolute worst thing you could do is get a product that completely strips the skin of oil as it makes your skin oilier in the long run, this product doesn't do that, not for me anyway.

Edit: I also finish off using the no cleanser with a couple of their moisturisers (as I got them in a gift set) the skin protect and perfect day cream with spf15 in the day and the night version for when I go to bed, that may have also had an effect on the cleansers effectiveness.

Another edit:

this is the set I am using at the moment http://www.boots.com/en/No7-The-Skincare-Collection-Gift-Set_1506079/

It's cheaper than getting all the different products in full size if you just want to try it out, it'll last a good month if using twice a day. Only thing I'll say is the make up remover (the blue liquid) is oil based so I seriously only recommend you use it sparingly.

Thanks a lot, do you know the ingredients of the cleanser and what moisturiser would you recommend for me?

I'd recommend the moisturisers that come with the collection in the gift box I linked in my last post.

I don't know the ingredients off the top of my head but it'll probably be easy to find them on google.
Just as that gift box had sold out. I think i will need a whole new skincare regime as reading the Ingredients in the Neutrogena products, it does not look good and explains why my acne is getting worse.

I think i will buy that hot cloth cleanser and then will I just need a moisturizer or a toner and sun lotion aswell?? Thanks again

I personally don't use toner as I've never found one that hasn't horribly dried my skin out (which can in turn make acne worse) I don't tend to use sun lotion either as most of my products have spf in them anyway. If you're struggling to decide on a moisturiser I'd recommended e45 lotion in the mean time as it's supposed to be suitable for sensitive skin and I think is also hypo-allergenic, I use it myself in between products and it has served me well.
And an exfoliator^

I do have a simple moisturizer which doesn't have any bad ingredients which may work well with the hot cloth cleanser??

Posted from TSR Mobile
I also have Argan oil which can be used at night? Do you think i need an exfoliator??

Literally all you need is:
Benzoyl peroxide cream, found on e-bay or amazon or acne.org - make sure it's 2.5%
Simple moisturiser
Gentle face wash

Helped my acne so so so so much!
