Enjambment is the splitting of a phrase or sentence across two lines of poetry.

These are the features of it

Enjambment lines usually do not have a punctuation mark at the end.

It is a running on of a thought from one line to another without final punctuation.

It is used in poetry to trick a reader. Poets lead their readers to think of an idea then, on the next line, give an idea that conflicts it.

Poets can achieve a fast pace or rhythm by using enjambment.

Multiple ideas can be expressed without using semi-colons, periods and commas.

It helps reinforce the main idea that might seem to be confusing with pauses.

It can be seen in different songs and poems.

It helps readers to continue thinking about the idea which is expressed in one line and which continues through to the next.

thankyou!
If you want an example it may look something like this:

When I am sad this is what I do,
I look to my right and then I see you
gazing back at me. And then I cry,
Because we, we are one,
You and I.

On the second line, enjambment is used as I have not included any punctuation to end the line, but instead carried it on to flow into the 3rd line. The punctuation in the 3rd line splits the line up, and is called caesura. Any punctuation before the end of the line is a caesura, and any use of no punctuation at the end of a line is enjambment.

Hope this helps!
