A question on coronary heart disease and blood pressure - AS AQA Biology

How does having a higher blood pressure increase risk of coronary heart disease?

Thanks!!!
Higher blood pressure increases the risk of thrombosis (blood clot) and can also damage the wall of the artery which can lead to an aneurysm.
