I have failed my first year of uni in architecture 2ce due to just one module.

As far as I know I think you won't get the maintenance grant. Don't know about the fees but you are suppose to get one mistake year, unless that's change.
If you only failed one module, can't you just do a gap year and resit that one module? get some work experience and come back as 2nd year.
