Hi Gareth!

Are you a current student or a prospective student?
I can help with anything should you need?

Cheers

I'll be a fresher and I have an unconditional offer so I'm definitely in this uni, but because my first choice turned me down like 2 weeks ago I turned to this and therefore ai had to apply for accommodation late. I hope I get into halls, I've been waiting a few weeks for a reply and once I bet a confirmed room I can relax. Anything you need to discuss too?

Ahh I see! Congratulations, you've got a brilliant university! What course are you going to study?

It's not the end of the world if you don't get halls mind! At the end of August, you'll be invited to a House Hunting event with other freshers so you get to meet others who haven't got halls and find somewhere to live! Usually uni housing is closer to bars/ town/ gym/ facilities etc so there's no need to freak out! If in doubt just give accommodation a call!

I know one friend of mine who did that and found it better because they had a big lounge and garden to share, plus it was a good stopping point for his mates in halls too!

I'm a graduate so i've been there, done it!
Both halls of residence and a house sound great to be fair☺️ But there could be space through clearing, the website says that an unconditional offer means a guaranteed place in accommodation. Oh and I'll be studying Interior Design at uni, how about you? 😁

Yeah don't be put off too much!

I think it maybe best too just call accommodation if you are unsure, they'll be able to give you an exact answer.
Oh cool course. Is that at FCH campus?

I studied Sports Therapy and now work as a graduate therapist in Gloucester though i'm originally from South Wales! It's great up here!

I'm from South Wales too! I only have a little worry about getting a place, I do think I'll find somewhere and yes the Francis Close Campus. Congradulations on getting a job quickly after graduation😀

Starting off you have your house/flat mates as your main buddies then you'll find they'll know people and you'll join clubs/ societies so you'll get to know people and it grows from there!
The best way is to just get involved really! try new things and carry on with things you do already and you'll soon get to know people!

Everyone is in the same boat!:bl:

I trust that they like us welshies?😂 and I hope you're right because I plan to be out alot rather than being on technology all day aha, I wish I could skip to the next month tbh 😅

Is the Francis Close 'area' nice? I applied to stay there
I will take that into consideration, thank you! I heard there's lots of restaurants too?
I don't mind anything that's less than half an hour walk, did you enjoy your experience over the 2 years?😊

Suppose independently surviving is the bad part?aha. My focusses are the enjoyment of the course, nightlife and making friends
Aslong as the nightlife isn't dire😂 I already know someone in the area that's going to give me a tour, etc, I'm praying I don't get clowns as flatmates (if I get a halls of residence place). What was badly run on your course?
That's a shame😕 does your 2 years in university count as anything? My sister was kinda screwed over by her degree too
Glad you did get something out of it after the effort and tuition fees☺️🎉

Yeah definitely! Like a commuting ground up here from Cardiff and such like. Your first year will revolve around socialising and getting to know the area.

I never had any problems in and around Cheltenham or Gloucester, good taxi firm partnered with the uni and bus service is pretty much on point so you won't be stuck on a night out.

There's tonnes of places around the corner from FCH to eat etc. The Brewery has your main stream places with a Cineworld and Gym if you wanted, and in town there plenty of nice places to go. Always chance to get a part time job too!
