the computer game that challenges the stigma of mental illness

Have you ever encountered a computer game set ina mental institution? If so, the institution is likely to have been a grimyenvironment spattered with blood, and with every piece of furniture overturned. The patients in these games are usually presented as either brutal killers oras speaking in nonsensical babble. Needless to say, this simply isn’t anaccurate representation of mental illness. A new game entitled Becoming seeks to provide a far more realistic view of what it’s like to betreated in a psychiatric ward. It’s being created by former mental patientIsaac Benjamin, who promises to give an insight into the thought processes ofthe central character, the events that led to his illness, and the grouptherapy sessions undergone in similar institutions.
It’s the first (and only) gaming experience tochallenge the stigma associated with mental illnesses: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/86849194/becoming-a-metaphysical-game-about-mental-illness0c3IVbN9
