totally agree with the above. even if it's just one friend who comes to stay, your flatmates might not like having to share the space with someone else who they don't know and won't necessarily like for an extended length of time. las year there was actually a bit in my tenancy agreement for the house i lived in about not having long term visitors, as it breached another part of the agreement about not doing or allowing others do anything that would annoy other housemates or neighbours.
